Who is InventionLIT?

The InventionLIT team is a dedicated group of innovators and educators from diverse backgrounds. Our mission is to empower educators to bring invention education into their classrooms through children's literature. Visit our About page to learn more about the InventionLIT team.

Will I get continuing education/professional development credits?

You will be provided with a certificate upon completion of the program. Please confirm with your school or district to determine if they will accept this as proof of completing professional development hours

Do I need to have any special technology or software applications to particpate?

The professional development program will be hosted via Zoom.
The curriculum materials created through the program will be accessible as a Google Drive document. Therefore you will need a Gmail account to access the drive. If you do not already have a Gmail account we recommend you create one prior to the start of the professional development workshops. It is free to create an account.
There will be a private Facebook community for all participants to allow for collaboration and communication. This is optional and does require a Facebook account.

When will the sessions be held?

Our first Cohort of training is now closed. Continue to check our website for new opportunities.

What if I am unable to attend a session?

Although our sessions will be recorded and stored, we require you to attend the live sessions. Please ensure you are able to attend on the specified dates prior to applying for this program.

Of course, we understand that emergencies do occur. In the event of this situation please notify us at inventionlit@gmail.com as soon as possible.

When is the deadline to apply?

The application period is closed for our first Cohort.

Is this open to U.S. residents only?

At this time the program is open to U.S. and Canadian residents only. We may consider more global programs in the future.

What is the eligibility to apply?

You are eligible to apply if you play a role in working with elementary-age students. This includes librarians, teachers, makerspace coordinators, Girls Inc, Boys and Girls Club of America, etc.

One of the Cookbook Lessons on the Repository is not working.
